End of Season Celebration/City Meet

The regular season has ended but please remember July 30th at 5:30 we will have our End of Season celebration at the pool. We will have dinner, awards, recognize our coaches, and have some free swim. This is Coach Victoria's last season with us. She has been with us for seven seasons and we greatly appreciate all she has done for our team. We gift all of our coaches with a little monetary love at the end of the season. If you would like to contribute, see Alison at practice or in the office the night of the celebration. We will send more party details regarding dinner at a later date.

Practice this week for City Meet participants will be from 8:45-9:45 for all ages. Coach Owen will be running a dryland practice for ages 9 and up from 8:15-8:45. Wear athletic shoes and bring water if you plan to attend.

City Meet entries have been finalized. There can be no more additions or changes. I will post final entries on the heat sheet/results page until the heat sheet is available. The only changes that can be made are medley relays. Some swimmers may not have the correct stroke by their name. As soon as the heat sheet is available, I will send it out and post on the site.

Please read the following info if you are attending City Meet at the Fairhope Municipal Pool:

*There will be three sessions on Friday and Saturday. Eight and unders swim the first session. Nine to twelve year olds swim the second session and thirteen and over are in the last session. Tentative start times are 9:00, noon, and 4:00 for Friday and 9:00, 11:45, and 3:30 for Saturday. We will have definite start times and warm up times by Wednesday.

*We will need every family participating to volunteer. We will receive our team's volunteer assignments as soon as all entries are in.

*The pool in Fairhope is indoors but there is not an indoor facility for team setup. We have rented a tent for our team area. Please bring chairs, blankets, drinks, and whatever else you will need to be comfortable. We will most likely be unable to leave anyting overnight so keep that in mind.

*Our spirit theme for Friday is "What would Jimmy Buffett do?". We have ordered parrot headbands, straw hats, leis, and sunglassess. Swimmers can wear hawaiin shirts or anything else bright and tropical. As we make it through the day, just remember it's five o'clock somewhere. Saturday is team spirit day and we have something special planned that we will discuss at practice.

*Concessions will be sold at the meet. As soon as I have more details on that, I will let you know.

So excited for a great City Meet!!!!!!
